Hi.. 1. when i use a tripple footswitch for my prompter (23" monitor, landscape with android mini-PC) I don't neet the navigation bar beneath the songlyrics. Is there any way to get rid of it ? It needs a lot of space on the monitor wich i could better use for lyrics.
2. sometimes i'd like to print some of the Lyrics. The "Lyrics Printer" download-link on the website doesn't work. Where can i get it ?
Thx all.. rock on

Hi there!
on 1: I can create a Settings option to hide the buttons (Song View) - not sure if this makes it into the next build, but I'll put in on top of the backlog.
on 2: Download link should be fixed and working now.
Cheers

B. Song 1 - Ready)? Hi Helmut, let's please keep this all in English - this is the common language in this forum, and I want everybody to benefit from the discussions here. Not enough critical mass to have individual local language sections... Could you also hide the song title in this context, as the file name is also in the top line (e.g. Song 1 - Ready)? Not sure if you mean hiding the status bar (definitely not something I'd consider) or hiding the song title within the song display? I'll answer the second (hiding the song title within the song display) I won't to that - a couple of reasons - the title in the status bar gets truncated when it gets too long; especially on mobile phones this can make titles almost unrecognizable in the status bar. So good to have the title in full within the text area. Once the song is scrolling, having the truncated title should be enough as a reminder what we are playing...
- Just removing the title, but leaving subtitle etc will create a pretty ugly head of the song - I prefer having a clean and comprehensible song header containing title, artist/subtitle, any capo or other information, plus any other commentss / custom comments relevant for setting up the song. Not helpful having to combine information from two different areas (status bar and text window)
- Does it really hurt having this extra line at the top of the song? Once scrolling starts, it'll get scrolled off the screen anyhow - it doesn't take away screen space permanently...
Cheers,
Torsten

Hi Torsten, for many years I have been using the Miditool Playlist professional (software version of the Miditemp MP88 W), which is primarily used for the entire midi routing, i.e. the midi control of the keyboards and VST instruments, the guitar effects, the Yamaha digital mixer, etc. At the same time, a midi file click signal is output to the monitor paths for each of our approximately 300 songs via the Miditool playlist. These midifiles are also used to control the text and music sheets (rtf files), including the programmed scrolling within the sheets. The Miditool playlist runs absolutely stable under Windows 11 professional 64 bit and will continue to be an essential part of the live setup. The software is operated live via an Ampero Control footswitch and a USB number pad. The display takes place on 15 inch monitors with a resolution of 1024 x 768. The monitor size and resolution are also still set, as these monitors can be integrated live in an extremely inconspicuous manner. Now LivePrompter comes into play! I'm still testing here at the moment. LivePrompter is intended to gradually replace the previous text display. However, this will certainly take a longer period of time. A big advantage of LivePrompter is the control via Midi through the Miditool Playlist (comparable to control through Cantabile). Midi control will certainly be available in LivePrompter 2 soon. Due to the screen resolution of 1024 x 768, I would like to see some features in LivePrompter 2 to make optimal use of the remaining screen space for text display. Attached is a screenshot of what the combined display of Miditool Playlist and LivePrompter2 currently looks like and where I still see potential for optimization for my setup. The view above (Miditool Playlist) is already limited to the essentials and is only used to select the songs and display the bars. In the LivePrompter view, the status line (<-- here: Rockin' all over ...) should optionally be displayed a little narrower. The song title (in the middle Rockin' all over ...) should optionally be hidden and optionally displayed left-aligned. The status line below (transport symbols) should optionally be hidden. The line spacing could optionally be made slightly narrower. It would also be desirable if it were possible to scroll forward one page at a time based on the bars. I would be very happy if my wishes could be taken into account and would of course be happy to support you. Thank you! Cheers Helmut

Hi Helmut you can already hide the button bar completely (Settings --> Song Display --> Button Bar Size: Hidden Closer line spacing unfortunately not possible - if you haven't added any line spacing, this is the box size of the underlying font. Anything below that could mess up the layout algorithm. General principle in LP: scrolling is designed to be automatic and smooth or manual and page-by-page - that's it. Timed page-flipping is just not practical if you're not playing fully backing-track / click-track-based, so not going to implement this specifically. But you can fiddle with timed pauses combined with short song duration for fast scrolling to imitate this timed page-flipping - take a look at this thread. Status bar size: can be customized to some extent (4 settings), but not lower than "small". This bar does have a purpose, and you quickly get used to it... Song title: as already discussed, I don't see much of a point in making that optional - not creating that option for one user. Same about left-aligned vs. centered title - not really worth having an explicit option. Overall, LivePrompter is more designed for use with portrait-oriented displays - there's nothing preventing you from using it in landscape orientation, but things do become a bit clunky (e.g. button width, centered titles, lots of unused space in the right half...). Cheers, Torsten

Hi Tosten, thanks for the information and tips. I found a very simple solution for hiding the song titles displayed in the middle. I simply changed the font color of the song titles to the color of the window background. Could you please tell me which fonts are used in LP2? Regarding manual scrolling, as soon as the MIDI functions are implemented in LP2, I will add another track in the click track MIDI files, which will then trigger "manual" scrolling via MIDI at the corresponding bar numbers. Best regards, Helmut P.S. The coffee is on the way ;-)

Could you please tell me which fonts are used in LP2? Currently, the main font family is "Roboto" by Google - this is the default system font for Android and most of Google's online services (Maps, YouTube, ...). It is very easy to read at various font sizes, so I adopted it for LivePrompter's text display. Beyond that, there are some specialty fonts for custom icons and for showing chord grids. All fonts are packaged within the LivePrompter 2 app, so no need to install new system fonts. Cheers, Torsten
