Hello, my first post here after just discovering Liveprompter.
Goal:
I have recently started using midi live with my Boss GT-1000, Boss SY-200 and Boss VE-500 all connected. I would like to use my Lenovo tablet to receive the midi patch number from the GT-1000 as well and display the lyrics to the song. Most of the patches would just show the set list but sometimes I need a lyric reminder for new songs. It would be great to have a bluetooth pedal that could scroll the lyrics up and down if needed. Also, whatever cable is used to convey the midi patch number to the tablet also needs to power the tablet since the battery will go dead over a 5 hour period of a show.
So, just wanted to see if there is a technical problem with what I want to accomplish and know what hardware/cables I need to acquire for this setup.
Thank you for your time!

Hi there and welcome to the forum! What you are planning sounds logical - problem would probably be that your Lenovo tablet only has one USB-C port (I guess) that would need to drive the MIDI interface and charge the tablet at the same time. You would need some kind of adapter that allows you to supply power to the tablet and still let it use the USB port. There are some "USB OTG splitters" out there (that's the feature that we need), but unfortunately, not all tablets support that mode. Most of them can only either be charged or use USB devices. If you're in the Apple world: iPads seem to be able to do this (either via USB-C adapters or via the lighting-to-usb3-adapter), but I haven't tested that... I've tried a number of OTG splitters and adapters, with some mixed success with Samsung tablets, but my cheaper Lenovo tablets won't do the trick... So, if you're in the Android world, you'll probably either find a tablet that works with OTG splitters or you'll need two tablets that you can swap during the show... Not really a LivePrompter issue; rather a hardware / firmware problem of most Android tablets, unable to charge while using USB devices. Once you have a device that works, you'll need a MIDI interface to connect your tablet to your GT-1000, and configure LivePrompter to change songs on receiving MIDI program changes: www.liveprompter.com/help/help-mobile/advanced-help-v2/midi-control/Scrolling via pedals is easy - there are a number of pluetooth pedals that do the trick: liveprompter.freeforums.net/thread/26/foot-switches-liveprompterCheers, Torsten
