Hi Everyone, I have recently started using Live Prompter which is fantastic. I am in the process of recording an album demo at home and wanted to use Live Prompter for Song and Studio information. Once finished I thought that with minor changes to the text pages I can use it for live performances with my band. I have been trying different tags in my text files, some work some don't. Also I have been looking at the (ini file) to see if that changes what tags I see or not in the text files (If that makes sense)
Having said all this, the questions are: Is there a list of Tags available that are recognized by Live Prompter. Is there a list of ini settings that show or hide tags and last but not least As I am using some strange chord structures, is there a tag that can make me build a chord fingering chart i.e. Thanks
by the way sorry for addition
I meant to specify that one of my jobs was writing software user guides so the questions are related to tags over and above what is listed in the user guide.
Thanks

Hi Torsten,
Thanks for your response. I am happy to say I have worked out what I needed simply as you described in your reply. Thanks.
Unfortunately I do not understand this part of your manual.
Just create a copy of LivePrompter.ini, make your changes to this new file and pass it to LivePrompter as a start parameter (C:\MusicProgs\LivePrompter\LivePrompter.exe CustomSettings.ini). The format of LivePrompter.ini is simple: Setting=value At the beginning of the line, you type the name for the specific settings (upper/lower case IS important!), then an “=”, and after that, the value for this setting up to the end of the line.
Can you please give me an example.
Thanks
all the best
Paul

Can you please give me an example. If you want an example for a working LivePrompter.ini, just look in your install directory - there is a working LivePrompter.ini in there. If your question is about having multiple different .ini files, here some pointers: I have multiple different .ini files in my LivePrompter directory: MainBand.ini, Unplugged.ini, etc. In my case, these are all copies of the same LivePrompter.ini file, but I have set the "HomeDirectory" parameter to different song directories, so that different songs are shown in LivePrompter - one configuration for playing with my band, another one for just playing at the beach with my guitar. To use one of these configurations, I need to tell LivePrompter to use that specific .ini file. To do this, I create a Windows shortcut to LivePrompter.exe, and in the properties of this shortcut, I add the ini file to the "Target" value. Looks like this in my case: "C:\Torsten's Music Tools\LivePrompter\LivePrompter.exe" Unplugged.ini That will make LivePrompter start with the settings in Unplugged.ini instead of LivePrompter.ini Another example: you could have different .ini files for different members of your band: Guitar.ini, Bass.ini, Drums.ini, ... Then use different customcomments in your songs and different settings of ShowCustomComments in your .ini files. So depending on the loaded .ini file, you'll see different comments for the individual band members. Cheers, Torsten
