Hi. I've been putting Live Promoter through its paces. It has some really good features. I'm a Cantabile user and LP works very well together. The MIDI handling is excellent and I find the inputs and outputs easy to program. The one thing that stops me from using LP seriously is the scrolling. I don't always know how long a song will be. I sometimes repeat verses and choruses. I would prefer to have multiple columns displayed so that the whole song can be seen at once or have a next page option. With the scrolling I can be left waiting for the next bit.
Otherwise it's brilliant.

I sometimes repeat verses and choruses. I would prefer to have multiple columns displayed so that the whole song can be seen at once or have a next page option. With the scrolling I can be left waiting for the next bit. Just some pointers on this: - if you have some parts of your song that you don't know how often you may repeat them, the pause tag may be helpful. LivePrompter will put itself in "wait" mode then until you tell it to continue (play or universal key)
- you can turn off continuous scrolling in LivePrompter.ini (AutoScroll=no) - then you can manually jump forward by full pages using the play button (or a corresponding foot switch) and by smaller increments using the down arrow button. You can even customize the amount that LivePrompter will scroll down on these keys in LivePrompter.ini (FullPageAmount, HalfPageAmount). I like to keep FullPageAmount at 90 (percent), so I have some continuity from the previous page
I usually get through things nicely with the help of the up and down arrow buttons (or their equivalent on my MIDI controller), even when repeating a chorus - just hit the up button to get back. It takes a bit of getting used to, as with any new tool. When using LivePrompter seriously, it is definitely advisable to have some physical control (pedals or buttons) to quickly jump backwards and forwards - especially when your drummer is having a fast or slow day... A column view is currently not on the roadmap, TBH Cheers, Torsten
