Hi. As Safari is no longer supported by Dropbox, I cannot activate sync on my ipad air. It works on Chrome but I cannot change default browser why LP cannot connect to Dropbox. Any idea? /Martin

Hi Martin,
iOS 12 is pretty old by now. Typically, if authenticating via browser doesn't work, my recommendation would be to install the Dropbox App, but according to Dropbox, that app requires iOS 15 as a minimum. Dropbox will work with Safari, but it requires Safari 12 or higher. Looks like you're out of luck with your device here. Is there no way you can update your device to iOS 15 or higher?
Unfortunately not much I can do - I can't force Dropbox to play nice with older OS versions...
Cheers,
Torsten

Thanks Torsten. I understand iOS12 is old but the ipad still works fine. I guess it's just the way it is, to force us buy new toys.. Perhaps in the future look at other sources of sync, even some diy self hosted options? Again thank for a fantastic project! /Martin

Yes, the rapid change of iOS versions is a bit of a nuisance. I have one or two of these earlier iPad models myself, which increasingly refuse to run some of my more most-used apps.
I may introduce alternative means to synchronize in future (FTP server may be an option), but can't guarantee that this will make LivePrompter work on older devices. Keeping software compatible with older OS versions is a lot of work, not all of which is in my hands (third-party libraries, especially for lower-level system-related functionality). Since I only work on LivePrompter in my spare time, I can't really invest any effort in backwards compatibility - generally, I just use the Flutter functionality and libraries available to me and live with their OS constraints.
Cheers,
Torsten

FTP sounds like a great and flexible option, or even webdav? Perhaps I could manually add the files, "manual sync"? However, I could not find where LP stores the files on iOS. I think keeping old but perfectly fine equipment alive is a great and sustainable ambition but I totally understand the software-OS compatibility challenge.
Thanks again! /Martin

You won't find where LP stores the files (unless you jailbreak your device, and not sure even then...) - LP is "sandboxed", so it keeps its files in its own protected space - and it can't get to files stored elsewhere.
