Been thinking about this more. I'd like to use a Morningstar MC-8 midi controller with LP. We're a cover band that takes a large number of requests so we can't rely on a simple set list.
So I'd like midi control to:
- go from song view to song list view - go from song list view to song list view the highlighted song line as a cursor - scoll up in song list view - scoll down in song list view
happy to contribute to the coffee fund for these features

That's a more complex one, which will require a bit of re-factoring. Especially the part about selecting a song via MIDI creates a few obstacles that I currently haven't really a handy approach to tackling - problem with the underlying Flutter widgets that don't allow programmatic selection.
I may address this in 2024 when I attack the next major version. Idea for that is to create a fundamental option to fully navigate LivePrompter via keys or MIDI without using a mouse or touch screen. This could enable an "in the box" version of LivePrompter, maybe built on a Raspberry Pi.
But this is not something I'll get to in the next weeks or months - and thanks for the offer to contribute, but I don't do "paid feature additions". This is a project where I set the priorities based on my own needs, user feedback AND my time and ability to implement ;-)
Until I get to it, you might try to use an alternative approach: use a smartphone and the LivePrompter Connect feature to remote-control your setup:
install LivePrompter on your phone, set it to Connect Master, and make all your other prompter devices "Slaves", and activate LivePrompter Connect on all devices. Now you can configure your slave devices to automatically load a song based on what the master does, and you can even slave song start and reset. So use your phone to find the song based on user requests and select it on the phone - all other devices will follow. It may actually be easier to react to requests with a phone and a touchscreen (maybe use the search screen if your list is very long) than scrolling through long lists with a MIDI controller.
You'll just need to have all your devices in the same WiFi network - bring a cheap WiFi router and set up a "stage" network (doesn't even need to be connected to the Internet) and connect all your LivePrompter devices. Then simply put the smartphone somewhere within reach, and you have an easy remote control ready.
Cheers,
Torsten

Thank you for the reply Torsten. We're using LivePrompter on iPads right now but I'm building a stage wedge ala "michigander" that I have to use a computer for because I can't get the iPad to drive the vertical monitor. I got an air mouse that works OK for switching between screens and selecting songs and an old air turn with fender pedals for scrolling down.
I appreciate that you are doing this project for your own needs first and also very much appreciate that you've made it available to the rest of us!

I'm building a stage wedge ala "michigander" that I have to use a computer for because I can't get the iPad to drive the vertical monitor. Makes sense - but again, consider "slaving" that stage wedge to your phone or one of the iPads instead of trying to fiddle with an air mouse or such. In my band, I drive most band members' tablets from my master - they don't need to do anything to select songs or start scrolling, but just lean back and enjoy the show. And thanks to custom comments etc, each of them get a fully individualized experience.

BTW, I love your idea of using a Raspberry Pi to drive LivePrompter.

Really wish I knew where Dal lived so I could sell him a wedge that I just made. Actually I have 3.

would like to have key bindings for going back to the songs/setlist view from a song. Be able to scroll and select a song or set list I'm currently playing with W11 version. Quite enjoying what i'm discovering.
It would indeed be good to have a single keystroke to go back from viewing a song to being able to see overall song list.
[ Sloight aside: By the way, I'm using a m-vave chocolate foot control. Thus, it would be good to have a way to set the 'feature' that moved back to song list by allocating a foot podal. The unit can be made to generate nominated keystrokes or MIDI commands - still learning more about foot pedal.]
